I’m a 23 year old college educated woman. All my life, I’ve been told how I deserve respect. Men should respect me, I should respect myself, I should demand respect from everyone around me, from employers to dates.

Do we tell boys that? Of course not. Boys are told, correctly, that respect is earned.

I’m pretty sure this all happened when a father, desperate to keep his daughter off the stripper’s pole, tried to instill self-respect in his daughter. Sadly, she probably took that to mean she should charge more money for sex.
